Considerations

⚠  Becoming a member of a local Masonic Lodge can offer many positives. We think it only fair and honest to explain the financial considerations.
Here are some key of the main expectations:

1. Time Commitment

• Regular meetings and events require consistent attendance. Old Edwardian Lodge of Stourbridge Lodge No.6141 meets at 5:30pm approx., on the first Tuesday Evening in October, November, December, February, March and April. This is normally followed by Dinner (Festive Board) at the Old Edwardian Social Club in the adjacent Street and the formalities end at approximately 10:00pm.

• Balancing lodge duties with work and personal life can be challenging but our underlying ethos is Family, Work and health are priority and must be considered first.

2. Financial Costs

•  As with many other clubs and associations membership fees, regalia, and event costs vary by lodge, these will be outlined in further detail at a meeting prior to joining.
•  Budgeting for these expenses is important.

3. Moral Expectations

•  Freemasonry values discretion and commitment to its principles.
•  Members are expected to uphold ethical standards and participate actively.

4. Cultural Fit

• As a traditional organisation, appreciating its customs and values is essential.
• Though some may view the rituals as formal or old-fashioned, their meaning have remained constant from ancient times to the present day.
